Winter Activities in Brian Head

Nestled in the beautiful red rock country of Southern Utah, Brian Head boasts plenty of excellent winter activities to entertain your family.

Skiing & Snowboarding

State-of-the-art snowmaking equipment at Brian Head Resort guarantees early season openings, but Brian Head's high altitude gets abundant snowfall of its own  from Mother Nature. Rising from 9,600 to 11,307 feet above sea level, Brian Head is the highest ski resort in Utah.

The ski area has six lifts and 53 trails, with chutes, bowls and terrain for all skiing abilities.

Brian Head's snowboard park features a variety of pipes, jumps and slides. Skiers and snowboarders who want to enjoy the highest elevations can take a snow cat to the top of Brian Head.

Snowtubing

Fun comes in a tube at Brian Head's famous vertical tubing park. It's the quintessential winter activity for every member of your family. The surface lift effortlessly whisks you to the top of the park where you have several lanes to enjoy. It's like a frozen water slide park where the beaming faces of snow tubers and employees last through the day.

Cross-Country Skiing

"Stunning views while you cruise!" That's cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in Scenic Southern Utah. Over 45km of marked cross-country trails and over 300 km of back-country routes are maintained near Brian Head. Brian Head Resort is also a great area for telemark skiing. Other cross-country and snowshoeing areas include the Cedar Breaks National Monument turn-off on Hwy. 14, and the Dixie National Forest areas of Deer Valley and Navajo Lake located along Hwy. 14.

Snowmobiling

The Cedar Mountain Snowmobile Complex offers over 160 miles of pristine snowmobile trails and wide open play areas. Ample snow and winter access to some of America's most unique scenery makes this one of Utah's most appealing snowmobiling areas. Access the complex from the Brian Head, Cedar Breaks, Navajo Lake or Duck Creek trail-heads. The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation, maintain most of the trails in the Cedar Mountain Complex and provide an info line for up-to-date conditions.
